Julian Ribeiro (aka @number1fairytale) is a New York City-based model, artist, and stylist that you might recognize from his viral TikToks, his one-of-a-kind outfits, or his epic DJ sets at things like Isabella Lovestory’s album launch, the New York Art book fair, and our two year party last weekend at Baby’s. But Julian has also done styling and paintings for cool people like Petra Collins & the Frost Children, and he even appeared on Jimmy Kimmel performing with the incredible Grace Ives. Lucky for us, Julian is here to tell us what he’s been into.

Basically, costume makers around the world will custom make you a pair of specialty shoes designed to look like horse hooves. I’ve been mulling over a pair for years. Ideally, I would wear them out under a pair of pants, convincing strangers I was some half-satyr satan servant that got lost downtown. You can keep the ASICS, I wanna look like I'm from hell!

I was never good at skateboarding but I gave it my gods honest. The Late Night Stars are a lot better. Last year their video “Respectfully” was everywhere, and rightfully so. Everyone rips. I still see little skater kids on Tik Tok dressing up like Trung and Zak and skating their locals or wherever. Check out Zak Ander’s solo part “Cow Boy”. Zak has put me onto a lot of cool shit, and I love stealing clothes and objects from his home.
Listen. I know it's sort of gross. It is sort of gross. But it's my strange addiction. My dad used to buy me a monster energy every Friday and Saturday as a child, and I think it’s just been wired into my head as a special treat. I think my twin brother has had a monster energy every single day since we were little kids. It kind of stinks too. Bonus points if you drink it on public transit or at work.
🧥
My homie Ash runs the coolest vintage shop downtown. She’s the dopest and it’s the kind of revolving door of cool kids, stylists, hot people and artists. I’d like to think if you’re sexy and you die downtown you respawn outside Big Ash. She has shown me nothing but kindness and if you still haven’t paid Big Ash a visit, you're gonna have to catch up. If you drop by, tell her I sent you. Bonus points if you actually buy something and don’t just get a photo taken!

One of the best out. I’ve been obsessed with this guy for a minute and I know a lot of people feel similarly. It’s rare to see someone be a terrific dancer and make great music. He used to wear lots of Aeropostale and preppy mall brands, but after a trip to New York he seems to be embracing a more skater vibe with his outfits. He’s magical and I hope he continues to be super successful. Check out “A Guide To Being A Partying Freshman” to start.
