Talia Ryder is a Buffalo-born, New York City-based actor + dancer, and someone totally worthy of the 400th Perfectly Imperfect post crown. Ryderβs career was kicked off in 2015 by landing the role of Hortensia, along with her sister Mimi, in the Broadway production of Matilda the Musical. Sheβs since starred in Eliza Hittmanβs acclaimed independent film Never Rarely Sometimes Always, Olivia Rodrigoβs βDeja Vu,β and the Spielberg 2021 adaptation of West Side Story, among others, as well as directing music videos for Del Water Gap and working with Saint Laurent. Talia plays the lead in one of 2023βs hottest indies, Sean Price Williamsβ The Sweet East, alongside Simon Rex, Ayo Edebiri, Jeremy O. Harris, Jacob Elordi, and a bunch of other legends. If youβre in New York City, go see the film at IFC while itβs still there, and if you live elsewhere try to catch it on the East Coast tour. Lucky for us, Talia is here to tell us what sheβs been into.

I am not embarrassed of loving to dj. I love to dance, I love listening to music, and I love doing both of those things with my friends. Djing is awesome. I hope I can do it more.

I've had them for 3 years. They're the best sneaker ever they go with everything and they're so comfortable

I watched it for the first time last week and have watched it 4 times since. It's such a great story it's almost a perfect circle. It ends where it begins, both characters get exactly what they want and what they've always had. It's a sad story but there's something so comforting about it. If I could make a movie like that I would be so happy.
My best friend Angel is in this and it's choreographed by the amazing Nina Mcneely. I watch it a few times a week I think. It makes me excited to make art. Also I could watch Angel dance forever.

I just started eating salad. I recommend this if you're trying to get into salad. From here I was able to branch out to other types of salad.

Ayo put me on to this amazing show when we were filming a few years ago in Vancouver. I've watched the series so many times since. I don't really watch tv other than this show and How To, and The Comeback. I guess I do watch some tv actually. But Jamie is hilarious in Stath I would love to get the chance to work with him

It's not a walk unless there's no destination. If you're heading somewhere, it's not a true walk. I mean leaving your apartment and not knowing where you're going or how long you'll be out. I get some really good thinking done on walks like this. I especially like walking in Paris.
