Benito Skinner, (also known as Benny Drama) is a Los Angeles-based comedian, actor, and writer, best known for his satirical and always on-the-nose online skits. If you’ve been on any of the short-form vertical video apps (literally every app now), you’ve probably encountered Benny Drama– from his pop-culture skits, to his unhinged series featuring his boyfriend’s mom. Benito also hosts the podcast Ride alongside Mary Beth Barone, where they discuss “trends, cultural moments that altered the direction of their lives, and even the film Mother!… NOTHING is off limits.” This fall, he finished production on his tv series Overcompensating. The star-studded cast has too many favorites for us to list them all, but Kyle MacLachlan and Connie Britton play his parents, and Charli XCX is providing music, so keep your eyes peeled. Lucky for us, Benito’s here to tell us what he’s been into.

Prada Conductor Hat
This Prada conductor hat is just something I can’t stop thinking about. I bid on it on eBay, I’m serious. I just wore it for a sketch but it’s a hat I need to see on everyone I meet. Like if you come into my house you have to put this hat on first. Does that make sense? I feel like Anastasia when I wear it! I’m so happy it exists.

My lover’s cultural digests!
I am biased because he’s my gay lover, but I really do find these helpful lol! I see the same 4 people on TikTok who go to Disneyland and 2 others who review drugstore skincare, so I feel like a quick refresher every week is helpful for me. This week he taught me who Matilda Djerf is <3 You gotta get her on here!!

Coke Zero
Where do I even start with this crazy girl?! I filmed my show Overcompensating (coming soon to Amazon :)) this Summer in Toronto and NOTHING hit like a CZ! Coming back to the states has been devastating just for the sheer lack of Coke Zero at restaurants. Diet Coke is LOVELY… but there’s something about little miss CZ. I think there’s less aspartame? Don’t tell me I won’t look it up and I don’t wanna know! They have FOUNTAIN Coke Zero at the Cinemark in North Hollywood. I took down a big gulp of it the other night while my boyfriend fell asleep next to me in a reclining chair watching Gladiator 2. That’s a dream night for me!

Amber Bain
Amber (The Japanese House) is working on the music for Overcompensating (with Alex Somers, George Daniel, and Charli XCX!!)- It’s my dream team. I truly just listen to the score of the show every day. But The Japanese House is some of my favorite music and I still have “In The End It Always Does” on repeat. And the new “Apple” remix really destroyed me. She’s a genius. I text her every day now that I have her number and so far it seems like she is receptive. Meet your heroes sometimes!

The podcast I do with Mary Beth Barone has a subreddit and it feels like our kids talking about us to their friends. I don’t want to lurk too much (it would be like reading my kid’s diary) but the joy I find in the community and their brain rot- I COULD CRY! Scared for the day they call us sellouts on there but so far so good!

Murder, Mystery, and Makeup with Bailey Sarian
Watching Bailey Sarian put on full coverage foundation while she tells me about a brutal crime committed years ago brings me peace in a way that nothing else does. She is a master storyteller and honestly so good at makeup it's mesmerizing. I watch her videos while I take Epsom salt baths. My boyfriend will leave me one day!
