Mimi Wade is a Los Angeles-based designer and stylist. After studying at Central St Martins, Mimi has become a quick favorite in the fashionable crowds– including former PI guests like Olivia Rodrigo, Alana Champion, Ali Michael, Harmony Tividad, Petra Collins (the latter of which, she co-created an I'm Sorry collection with earlier this year). Her namesake brand, Mimi Wade, has been stocked at Faline, SSENSE, Selfridges, H Lorenzo, and more, and she’s creative directed for Heaven by Marc Jacobs with Ava Nirui. Mimi tells us to keep an eye out for a new Mimi Wade capsule collection soon! Lucky for us, Mimi’s here to tell us what she’s been into.

I have an enduring love of Daphne Du Maurier and Hitchcock, and when the two are combined there's nothing I love more. I actually designed a collection inspired by it in 2018. The birds is also one of the scariest films I've ever seen and Mrs Danvers truly the most terrifying character.

Harry and I studied together at CSM and I have been a long standing admirer of his genius. I recently bought three of his pictures and I feel so happy whenever I look at them.

Estathé alla Pesca

Nectar of the Gods. Tastes best in a plastic cup you poke a straw through (see pic) which are impossible to find outisde of Italy- I make do with buying cans at Bay Cities and the Brandi Mellville Cafe at the Grove.

Fare uno squillo

When you call someone but only let it ring once, to let someone know you're thinking about them. This used to be a thing when I was a teenager in Italy and I want to resurrect the tradition (I don't love being on the phone)

Rain and Thunderstorms

Whether they are tropical or in just rainy England, there's something so cathartic and relaxing about them. It always feels like an emotional release for me.
