Comet is a New York City–based musician I had the privilege of seeing twice this year— once when she supported Urika’s Bedroom, and again at the release show for her single “Opium.” I was hooked not just by the music, but also by her hypnotic stage presence (I highly recommend catching her live). Dubbed the “Princess of Nu-Grunge” by Paper Magazine — a title that couldn’t be more fitting — Comet is one of the most exciting acts emerging from the downtown music scene and current grunge revival.
