Fousheé is a Los Angeles-based musician. Since appearing on NBC’s The Voice back in 2018, Fousheé’s career has seen collaborations with artists like Lil Uzi Vert, Steve Lacy (co-writer of his Grammy-nominated hit Bad Habit), and Lil Wayne, and she’s put out two stellar R&B/alternative rock hybrid albums. The most recent, Pointy Heights, came out back in September– in her own words, “It's named after my late pint sized grandfather, the land and legacy he left behind that became a tight knit community populated by all the members of my mom’s side of the family. It's an alt soul, grunge, rock & reggae fusion and new ground for me as I experiment with genre and the carving of fresh paths in the music industry.” She is currently on tour, and you can get your tickets here. I thought we milked everything possible under the sun until I came across this. The first time I tried banana milk I wanted to cry. I was on a banana smoothie kick at the time so this was right up my alley. nothing added, just bananas. It's fascinating! Mostly I put it in my lattes but it’s also delicious on its own.

the color black

Chartreuse used to be my favorite color and life was so much harder then. Balancing life’s never ending list of demands just didn’t pair well with color coordination. My grandma used stay in an all black fit. She would joke that she was always chic and funeral ready. I feel so much lighter now that I welcomed the color black into my life.

It's a book containing over 30 meditations on the process of loving. It isn't limited to romantic love, it’s every form of love from the inside out. After reading this I started challenging my relationship with attachment and judgment. It’s truly become a staple of mine.

island to table patty hut

Ask for the jerk jackfruit patty. I used to live in DTLA & I found this lowkey Jamaican food restaurant in a food court. Turns out the owner is from the same parish my family is from in Jamaica. She's the sweetest. When I had my album pop up, she came through with her patty truck. At some point that evening she placed a warm jerk jackfruit patty in my hand to try. One of the best things I’ve ever tasted.

I discovered this song on a deep YouTube dive and do not regret it. I remember having it on repeat for at least three consecutive days. Her voice is like a soft fuzzy robe for your ears. She also has such a way with words. If there was a song I wish I'd written it would be this song.
