Lexa Gates is a Queens, New York-based singer‑songwriter, rapper, and producer. It’s no surprise she was named an Artist to Watch for 2026 by The New York Times, and perhaps you’ve encountered the numerous clips of her durational art installations online, from spending 10 hours locked inside a glass box to performing on a giant mechanical wheel (also for 10 hours). She’s got an impressive catalog of full-length projects to her name, and her newest record, I Am, dropped last month.
