I live in Asheville and this area got absolutely smoked by Hurricane Helene. Parts of the area look like warzones. Whole towns were wiped off the map, lives were lost, infrastructure for basic necessitiesâobliterated. Much of the area is still without running water let alone drinkable water. Officials say the area might not have running water until 2025, drinkable water much later. If you can, donate to Beloved Asheville (@belovedasheville). Our town will need support for years to come to recover.

From the moment I saw her photographyâI felt at home. Her work is holistic and redeems the forgotten in our society. Stacyâs photography leaves moral judgment out of the narrative and takes in what it means to be a human who never asked to be born in the first place. I spend a lot of time wondering how she seems to be at the right place at the right time to get her photos.

2 people thrifting, hoarding, and reselling to avoid a 9 - 5. Itâs amazing what they will do to save or earn $5. Theyâll do things like bring gallon bags to stuff at the buffet or flatten and store hundreds of cereal boxes and chip bagsâ hoping they will sell for the big bucks for novelty someday. I love to think about what their apartments must look like.
