it is so hard these days to
get in a routine of writing
so: a brief challenge
(though I would hesitate to
call it a challenge for
me because I pay
farrrr too much money to do this)
but writing a poem
every week provides some
satisfaction, if not
fulfillment for the whole
paying for it

✍️trying my hand at this poetic form called glosa (an old Spanish poetic form) and I’m planning on writing 80 or so lines in the next few days or so. Writing poetry is so rewarding, but I tend to stick to shorter poems.
this poetic form explicitly quotes a poem or other source and uses a quatrain (four line chunks) as a wellspring for the ending lines for four ten-line stanzas. I’m challenging myself by basically doing a longer quotation of eight lines and writing eight ten-line stanzas (with maybe a couplet at the end for emphasis). It’s gonna be a challenge but I can’t wait to finish it and share the end result with yall :)

📖It just started as a boredom thing, finding fun rhymes and making funny connections between words.
But now I have really begun to enjoy it. I put time off to sit and think, about ways to make a message come to life, in an indirect way. And it doesn’t have to have a deep meaning at all, the little things in life also need attention just as the big things do. I hope someone sees this and decides to give poems a try♥️
