got into the series finally and dear god. the music is to die for.
it's a short web series told primarily through a series of animated music videos with a couple supplementary little comics and artworks - i got through all the canon content in about an hour before i started hunting for fan content (vivvinos when i catch you.). googling anything about it or reading any comment sections will give you spoilers galore so if you want to check it out, i'd recommend consuming it in the order given by this google doc: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1PYwknYstNdlNYdLbnT89DhwC_vkXyVMDeqNB6o_RX2g/edit?tab=t.0#heading=h.k7omprns5oz9

this show is trippy in the best way, if you wanna look at a bunch of weird cooky animal blobs and pretend like you're living inside of a video game, this is for you

I love weird media! Anything strange and weird and odd is my favorite.
Starting off, the game Psychonauts. You play as a young boy at a summer camp training to be a Psychonaut- someone who explores people's subconscious for various reasons (to help them, to gain information, etc.) The graphics are incredible and the story is very funky.
Jack Staubers Opal. It's only a very short film, you can find  it on adult swim's youtube channel, but it's stellar! Claymation, music, weird psychedelic dream-like sequences, and lots of representstive story telling. You really have to dissect it to get the most out of it. It's great.
A better known one, but The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. Easy to obtain either through emulation or a remake on a more recent console (I think the Switch has one). Very odd and off-putting ambiance in general, plus really creative story and mechanics.
This is vague, but bear with me. A lot of old Slavic animation, stop-motion for the most part. I can't remember names for the life of me (and most are in languages I don't speak!), but you can definitely find lists online. Lots of surreal concepts and weird, but not explicitly horror, visuals.
Repo! The Genetic Opera: a very strange movie, a little underfunded for their vision i think, but a very fun watch nonetheless. See Paris Hilton's face fall off! Jokes aside, it's a really cool concept, and it's visually very impressive even if the writing is a little underwhelming at times.
I can definitely keep going, but I think that's good for now LOL. I hope you find something awesome!

Been rec'd several times already and now I know why. This show knows what must be seen and what can be spoken. Imaginative, detailed animation equal parts Mœbius and Ghibli. They went all out with the diversity of flora and fauna on the planet. This combo of beauty and body horror reminds me of Made in Abyss. And the healthy dose of ecological mystery reminds me of Raised by Wolves (RIP). Give me more.

i've been really into the idea of taking myself on little solo dates and being generally kinder to myself lately, i think i've been happier with myself recently than i have ever been (the joys of growing up, i guess). and the realisation that i have real adult money and free will and can spend it on whatever is fun! i've been going to more concerts and on little trips and i saw that this one comedy duo i've been seeing a lot on social media were doing a live recording of their podcast in glasgow later this month, and i booked a ticket! planning on taking the day to do a little walking tour of the city, check out a doughnut place someone recommended to me, find a cool looking bar and order myself a pretty cocktail and head to the show - just really make a day of it :) i don't know, i guess i've been really leaning into the idea that of all the people in my life, i am the one i'll have to spend the most time with, and i've been learning to have more fun hanging out with myself, and i feel like i'm coming into my own a little which just makes me so happy <3 hang out with yourself more! life is short man

i've been doing little things to make my life a little easier, like leaving a bottle of water, iron supplements and some belvita soft bakes right by my bed so i always have breakfast, water and iron in the morning, and keeping a very condensed set of skincare stuff right by my toothbrush - it might not be as effective as having more but getting myself to use a cleanser, moisturising sunscreen and vaseline every day has already made my skin feel so much better which has just gotten me more excited to do my routine every day. plus, getting body sprays and haircare stuff and just products in general that you really like the smell of is a game changer because now i get to smell like pineapples and caramel every day! it's such little things but it makes me happy and keeps me doing a routine of things that are good for me :))

there's really something about summer. i was back in my home city and i've been more content than i've been in ages. i've been slowly but surely becoming a more functional, productive person and i revised for an exam in the sun, got myself a really good chai latte, took myself for a long walk - slowly feeling less like a cave creature trapped in mental hibernation
