In-fiction, a teenaged son, but the actor looks like he's in his 30s and he talks like a beleaguered Seinfeld character. It's like the spirit of Larry David got trapped in the body of a much younger man. It shouldn't work but I think it's just stupid enough to work, like Wet Hot American Summer. Fascinated by him.
Also I cannot BELIEVE how funny this show is I get why Abed was Like That about it. I'm about halfway through season one and I can tell I'm going to watch the whole thing so quickly.

I’ve been thinking about this sitcom b(romance) from 2009 even though you know gay romance was pretty much unheard of from that time but their relationship was totally one of the highlights of the show and it totally redefined what romance (or relationships in genera) can look like

if i had a comfort sitcom, this would be it :,) sadly it only has two short seasons, so i've seen every episode at least 10 times. (if you're going to watch it, make sure to look up the right episode order because it aired out of order.)
when i'm at a loss for what i want to watch, i put it on. somehow despite having seen it a bajillion times, the gags still land. there's also something so inherently 2000s about it with its slightly outdated jokes and energy that i find charming. it's the same way i feel about 2 broke girls. it's just fun hjinks with people who are kind of messed up!!!

📺My friend and I watch SATC and High Fidelity (2020) whenever we want to feel better about our romantic (and just general life choices).
If you like the world of Gilmore Girls, Freaks and Geeks is so comfortable to sit in. The characters feel like how real high schoolers (I dated a guy in high school a lot like Nick from this show and we all have, I think). The costuming and soundtrack is great, the midwestern vibes are comforting, and the acting is surprisingly raw and realistic for being a comedy series. Martin Starr has genius comedic timing.
Dollface is kind of a hidden gem! Kat Dennings is a gemini queen and she creates a really lush and intricate imaginary world in this show.
Community is perfect for pop culture nerds- the first season is like a lot of sitcom shows in that it takes a bit for them to hit their stride and find their audience. It does not use the mockumentary style like Parks & Rec and The Office, which gives the show more permission to be weird and far-away from reality.
