these are one of my favorite pairs of jeans. if you know me you know i’m almost always in a baggy jean and i’m a denim enthusiast. i’ve gotten multiple of my friends to wear canadian tuxedos. it’s funny that they’re called that since denim is such an american thing to me for some reason.
i‘m wearing them today! i thrifted them at a goodwill probably like 2 years now and i had to cut the pants because they were too long (i always have this problem).
40inch jeans may seem crazy to you but i used to have a skater boyfriend in high school that would always wear 40s…so he definitely influenced me in that way. i used to think he was crazy for that because like all skater boys he didn’t have much meat on his bones but now i understand.
the pockets in these are HUGE too if you’re a woman you know how big of a deal that is. my girlies better go get themselves a pair after this!

Handed down through the family, these were an uncle's jeans (he was super skinny in the 70s), then my cousin brother's jeans, and now they're mine. Ir's the only pair of clothing where I tell myself not to gain too much weight, because I want to fit in them forever lol but someday that day will come... Many appreciative moments with these jeans too, one time a girl at the metro chased after me to ask where I'd got them. They're made so well. Nice and stiff, takes three wears to break in after laundry day.

absolutely love these earlier this year I did an experiment and wore them for sixty days straight (with appropriate washings) — and I never got tired of them. Now I have two pairs, they are both in incredible condition. Slim without being constrictingly skinny, stretchy and flexible, and a revelation in their durability. I usually pair them with a black t-shirt (that has become my daily uniform) but they can dress up a couple notches as needed. I wear them with flip flops, sandals, athletic shoes, dress boots.
got them on now!

i got them for like $8 at a thrift in the mens section.. loose straight leg, medium wash but they've been worn sm they're significantly lighter than the original pair, big ass pockets (thank u boys)- literally the perfect "boyfriend" jean. every time i would wear them to work, the bougie ladies would compliment me and get frustrated asf that they were second hand </3

i’ve been humming this song and thinking about it all day for some reason. it’s about her traveling the world, going to all these different countries, but still missing home. while joni isn’t a native californian (she’s canadian) i hear her love and longing for it in this song. her voice is just so delicate yet so powerful at the same and when she hits those runs with the high notes it tickles my brain. i don’t know how she does it man. the lyrics are great as well too, one of the best songwriters to ever live.
this song makes me love my home even more than i already do. even when i lived in texas for a few years i would wish a tornado would come and tear down the trailer park i lived in during tornado season in the summer, literally kneeling on the ground inside of the neighborhood shelter with my palms together, eyes closed, praying to god to let mother nature do its thing so i could go back home to california.
obviously, joni and i were in 2 very different situations…

this movie is amazing. i love how they kept the original dialogue of the play and used it in the movies but still modernized the setting and characters. a lot of movies make romeo and juliet bland and boring but this one is vibrant, with fun wardrobes, religious iconography everywhere, and this movie feels so saturated. leonardo dicaprio is charming as always in this movie and he plays an amazing romeo to pair with precious juliet. i absolutely love the person who plays mercutio, they did an AMAZING job.
the problem with all the other romeo and juliet movies is that they always take themselves too seriously but you have to remember, this was meant for stage theatre and shakespeare was a playwright who loved to be humorous. all of that gets lost in every single other romeo and juliet movie except this one. it’s so fun, i highly recommend.
CAUTION: tears might be shed.
