If you have an air fryer- cut a local seasonal peach, black plum, or apple in half and remove pits or seeds or stems. Put the halves in the air fryer basket, skin down, fruit meat up. Put the air fry setting on 400° for 5-7 min. When you take the fruit out (gently with a fork or spoon because it should be soft and it’s hot, watch out! don’t burn yourself!), sprinkle it with some cinnamon. A healthy dessert that feels decadent.
~*A touch of lore*~: On Mother’s Day 2021, my mom purchased a Ninja air fryer from Amazon and had it sent to my home while we sat at the dinner table at Yamashiro in Los Angeles. She couldn’t handle the fact that she was prohibited from paying the bill and that I didn’t have an air fryer, so I assume that she did this to alleviate her discomfort.
When I received the air fryer, I was excitedly using it to air fry various things, then after a while, I was predominantly using the bake and toast settings. It went on like that for some time. My real dad came to visit in July of this year, 2024, and we were making some food and dessert. I put some local peaches into the air fryer on the bake setting, and he was like “Oh, you’re doing bake? That’s cute. Why don’t you try it on the air fry setting.“
I was like how did I not even think of using the air fryer to air fry for so long, let alone with fruit. So, the moral of the story is that really changed the whole game up and now I’m using the air fry setting on fruit exclusively.
