While everyone else is coming and going on vacation, in the heat, rushing and getting stressed, you don't have to worry about booking a trip or packing. Plus, it's the perfect opportunity to see your city through different eyes. The silence on street corners and the murmur of birds. There's something different about it, a calm that mingles with the stifling heat, which, in my opinion, gives you a strange but pleasant feeling.

⭐Knowing that seasonal depression isn't coming for me or any loved ones is a big one. I love wearing shorts. I love having a full day. I love that there's this opportunity to plan things ahead of time without being worried about not knowing the weather. I love the sun. I love the smell of sunscreen and chlorine on a beach towel. I love ice cream. I know it gets REALLY hot sometimes and humid and there's mosquitos but something about all the nuanced things that make up this season make it worth it.

🌞The lead up to summer always excites me more than summer. It’s a cool season don’t get me wrong but once that heat really gets cooking I’m very much over it. The thought of it is amazing though. You think of all the summer type things you get experience again and make all these plans and then in the middle of it you remember oh yeah this is not for me.

As dearly as I love the summer, I feel like there’s a pressure to it. A pressure to live the boldest and most spontaneous life. Living in summer feels so fast paced; it’s almost competitive. Like you HAVE to be the person to travel the furthest distance to the coolest city. “Who can have the best summer? How many people can I make envy me?” I am ready for rest. Bye bye summer!
