Bit of an existential question. But I basically got my undergrad in preparation for museum/archives positions and realized I don't have a passion for it at all. Lots of my friends are very career-driven creatives, and I feel like my heart really thrives in creative spaces. I realized I want to spend my limited time on earth in those kinds of spaces, and most of our lives unfortunately involve our workdays. So ultimately, I would like to eventually have a career in a field that is more creative than the one I am in. Which is a very broad bottom line. The problem is that I am interested in so many things across the board: writing, filmmaking, singing, acting, SFX makeup, graphic design, etc. I'm not sure how to move forward because I feel like I don't have time to explore all these things, and I don't know what I want my "field" to be. I don't know if I would need a second undergrad, a Master's, or no degree at all depending on what I want to do, so this has paralyzed me on my next steps. Obviously pursuing one of these doesn't rule out dabbling in the others, but I am having difficulty figuring out which one to put effort into exploring next. Does anyone have advice on how to choose your creative niche? (Part of the problem is that I keep conflating the creative explorations with career aspirations, which puts a lot of pressure on the exploration part, but I can't get myself to stop thinking that way.)
