every time i’m on a long flight i end up reading whatever book i brought cover to cover and also bawl my eyes out to it. coincidentally, these tend to be books that i felt were over recommended or cliche fiction classics so of course i loved them and finished them in one sitting. looking for my next read so pls recommend!! looking for fiction with a compelling storyline preferably about relationships, taking place in a realistic setting (i very much enjoy surrealism but not as much fantasy or sci fi, stil open to it tho if you think the extensive world building exposition paragraphs don’t block out the story) past books i finished on a flight and bawled my eyes out to: - heaven by mieko kawami (KILLED ME UGH) - the joy luck club by amy tan (watched the movie on my return flight and cried my eyes out AGAIN) - love in the big city by sang young park (on a bus right instead but still) - the secret history by donna tart (didn’t cry but i started reading on the plane and did nothing else in my spare time other than read after landing) - please look after mom by kyung sook shin (another killer, although i felt it played more on my weakness for family dramas)
