was reading this HBR article about how people are really using GenAI in 2025. the number one use? not productivity or writing or coding, but companionship and therapy. even more surprising, number 33 was using AI to connect with people who’ve passed away. honestly threw me off. i get the always-there comfort, the ease of talking without judgment… but can something that doesn’t actually feel emotions really help someone heal? and the idea of using it to talk to someone who’s gone? no clue where to land on that. comforting? disturbing? just plain eerie? makes me wonder if we’re trying to solve the right problems with the wrong tools. or maybe this is what people need now and i’m the one out of sync. so yeah, what about you? would you ever use AI like this?
