Pierce Abernathy is a recipe developer and model based in New York City. His background in video production and plant-forward recipe curation make his videos a real delight to watch, and it probably doesn’t hurt that he’s a model that’s walked for Gucci. Since the early days recording at his parents house he’s amassed a following of over half a million people and now he works with big clients like Ikea, Food52, and Sweetgreen, and he’s even curated multiple food experiences for Gucci’s sustainable collection in Tofino, British Columbia. Pierce is into all kinds of cool shit, and lucky for us, he’s here to share a taste of his taste with us.

I have played solitaire on my phone every day for the past 3 or 4 years. I really don't remember why or how this habit started but I have become hooked. A game of solitaire is just the right amount of time and brain power for a squat on the toilet, a break from tedious work, or a wait in a line.

Sometimes your Youtube algorithm blesses you. Mostly obscure funk and jazz albums from the 60s, 70s, and 80s. A treasure trove of a record store in the palm of your hand.
📺
Another youtube channel you didn't know you needed in your life. High stakes marble racing on dirt tracks in what appears to be the south west. A friend recently introduced me to this and I’ve been obsessed. Gather your friends, grab some beers, and place your bets.

I have had a passion for peanut butter since I was little. Walking through Trader Joe's one day years ago I found my holy grail of snacks. A peanut flavored puff that's truly just 4 ingredients; Peanuts, corn, oil, and salt. I don't buy them all the time but when I do, I buy at least 4 bags and they are all gone within a week.

I’ve always had difficulty shopping for clothes. A mixture of ignorance and a lanky profile. In the past year, with the help of my girlfriend, I’ve started to enjoy investing in well made pieces. I have 2 pairs of Evan Kinori pants. He is a pattern and garment maker in San Francisco. They both are some of my favorite pants I’ve ever owned and only seem to get better with age. One of the pairs is dyed with fermented persimmon (kakishibu) and dried in the sun giving it a unique pattern. I’d wear everything he makes.

HOLY SHIT are these things good. I was recently in Barcelona and had an insanely delicious lunch at Quimet & Quiment. After the meal we asked for espresso. They served the espresso with this perfect cookie…. Or crepe technically. So light, so crunchy, perfectly sweet and buttery. It is everything I want and more in a post-meal espresso companion.
