Isabella Lalonde is the New York City-based artist and designer behind the whimsical fairy-tale inspired world of Beepy Bella. Her jewelry and accessories went super viral after being seen on the Euphoria character Jules and has since been worn by everyone from Bella Hadid to Dennis Rodman and Grimes. Yesterday Isabella dropped a capsule collection with Café Kitsuné to celebrate their brand spankin’ new Silver Lake location. The collaboration consists of a handcrafted glass blown ring and a fox themed pendant necklace + hat, and perfectly marries Beepy Bella’s ethereal Y2K aesthetic with the sleek minimal vibe of Café Kitsuné. You can find these items exclusively at the cafe, which is open to the public now and boasts a huge 14’ x 6’ mural painted by Jeffrey Sincich, transforming the café’s facade into a market, with staples ranging from milk and produce to housekeys. Lucky for us, Isabella is here to tell us what she’s into.

Frogs inspire me a lot and have been a consistent symbol used within my work. My favorite species is called the Vietnamese Mossy Frog, because of their unique bumpy texture. Personally speaking, I aspire to be like the Mossy Frog. Strangely alluring, uniquely charming, and distinctively individualistic.

I think falling in love is one of the most beautiful things a human can experience. This movie makes me feel comforted, and reminds me of the art of a shared conversation between two people who admire each other upon first meeting. It's a slow-paced film that an old-school hopeless romantic, like myself, can resonate with. It feels like poetry to watch.

One of my most favorite items I’ve designed recently is a miniature coffee cup ring for my Café Kitsuné by Beepy Bella collaboration. It’s handmade with glass, and the little cup is filled with “coffee” (brown glass). It sits on top of your finger as if it’s meant to exist there. Meret Oppenheim and Alice in Wonderland (specifically the Mad Hatter’s tea party) inspired this piece. It will be available for purchase at Café Kitsuné’s Silver Lake location in LA.

She’s one of my favorite artists. Specifically her performance art videos, and the quality / visual taste of how her pieces in nature are filmed, is exquisite. The way she uses herself as a body within her work is not only captivating, but something I feel I can personally relate to as someone who also uses their physical being as part of their art process.

Each morning I have one or two dates, a ripe banana with a heaping amount of natural peanut butter and two shots of espresso - either black or iced with oat milk. I strongly value the healing properties found within the food we ingest, I actually find it quite inspiring creatively. I’ll also make sure to drink lots of water with fresh squeezed lemons. I look forward to it every day.

Every night, I wait until the world goes quiet so I can be at peace with my thoughts. Often, I’ll play healing frequencies in the background of my bedroom for hours. Also, I have specific lighting I’ll put on to create a womb-like energy. Then, I allow myself to question things, perplex my intuition, and discover new avenues of philosophical beliefs I have as an artist and human.
