TAGABOW aka (They Are Gutting a Body of Water) is a Philadelphia-based band founded in 2016 as a solo project by lead singer Douglas Dulgarian. With the additions of bassist Emily Lofing, guitarist PJ Carroll, and drummer Ben Opatut, the band has evolved their sound by blending elements of shoegaze, noise, hardcore, and drum and bass. To many, myself included, they’re the leaders of this new wave of Shoegaze and stand high above the watered down Tiktokification of the genre. Put more simply, they’re the real deal. Douglas recently teamed up with Jack Chaffer of Full Body to form a new project called ECHOTRACER and last year they released a breakbeat EP titled FUCKING22STEP that you can find on Youtube. The band told us that they have a collab EP dropping with “a few of our closest friends,” and you can listen to it’s lead single “krillin” now. Be sure to catch them on tour with former PI guest DIIV, among others. Lucky for us, the band is here to tell us what they’ve been into.

The first inclination is always to question the intent, but wandering aimlessly and appreciating the overall feeling is always a better way to live your life.

Preying on insecurities is morally repulsive, but it does offer some of the most appealing packaging; scratch offs, energy drinks, gas station dick pills. Some shit screaming at you in all caps reading MONEY TIME and you think, “yeah, maybe my life can change too”. And even if we all know that its promise is hollow, just being in the presence of such boldness is comforting.
To me, her YouTube channel encapsulates all the best parts of being vegan, eating at home and work in practical ways, and the excitement of going to a new vegan spot and trying their flagship items. Side note: I would also love to see a channel like this based in Philly, trying different places
Emily: I loved and connected with this book so much, it perfectly encapsulates the experience of liking hardcore and the rituals, nuances, and sensibilities associated with it

me and my friend Syd always come up with these prompts like “if you were designing a bathroom what would the theme be?” Gives you a lot to think about…
Lived in southeastern pa my entire life and always enjoyed fishing and hiking growing up. Been spending the last few years reading and learning more about properly identifying the native and invasive flora in our area. So many delicious edible berries/fruits and mushrooms to be had, just have to know what you’re looking for.
Never had the opportunity to play the original game but this shit is so much fun, incredible soundtrack. Cant recommend this enough

My favorite side-quest on tour is hunting for VHS tapes with Doug, we’ve been long-time collectors. You can find some weird shit when you're on the road in some random-ass city. I have an epic room in my house dedicated to my hoard that we call tape world.

Farscape is an Australian sci-if series by the Jim Henson company, best known for its original character and set design. What really stands out to me is its innovative use of makeup, costumes, and puppetry. I like Farscape because I’m kind of dumb and most sci fi is too smart for me. Farscape is fun to look at, and that’s on my level.
