Tarlov is a NYC-based content creator and musician, and, to quote Interview Magazine, a “budding sex symbol.” Jake has generated millions of views on TikTok for being a bit of a vibe connoisseur. His videos are often tagged with #aesthetic and show him walking down the street, checking his blindspot, rocking a swaggy fit, and maybe looking at something; simple yet aspirational content for chillers. Take, for example, this video, where he enjoys a shrimp cocktail while reading Eragon (set to his own music to boot!), this one that’s soundtracked by Oasis, or his dinner link-up with Omar Apollo. You can find his debut EP titled DON’T LOOK BACK, demos here and the lead single, “chopped liver,” here. Jake seems to have it all pretty figured out, and lucky for us, he’s here to tell us what he’s been into.

i love hanging out in parking lots. there’s drama in parking lots - you can make friends, you can make enemies, you can play soccer but my favorite thing to do is to listen to loud music. it has to sound like the speakers are about to be blown out. when i was a tour manager, i spent a lot of time in parking lots all around the country. richmond VA had an awesome parking lot under the freeway. i also got stuck at a burger king parking lot in miami one time and it was pretty fun. my absolute favorite parking lot is the biergarten parking lot on western ave in LA. i’ve fallen in love and i’ve had my heart broken in that parking lot.

i love handhelds so much i can’t even describe what they truly mean to me. for beginners, handhelds are sandwiches but as you become more advanced in the art of handhelds, you realize that the possibilities are endless. seafood handhelds, for example, could be anything from a shrimp poboy to an oyster to some baked crab hand rolls from katsuya studio city. connoisseurs understand that handhelds could also be tacos or quesadillas or even chips. the most classic, and my personal favorites, are overpriced tuna melts and cheeseburgers.

iron man 2 is such an incredible picture. the highest form of art. tony stark is the man. i constantly have the soundtrack playing on repeat. i usually don’t watch anything before 2000 but i’ve recently watched some movies before 2000 and they’re actually pretty good. risky business is a good one. also shawshank redemption

my friends send me videos of cranes and bridges all the time. it might be better than any movie before 2000. that shit is so captivating. so calming and inspiring. what are they building? when are they going to be done? will they ever be done? where did this crane come from? its so big. sometimes i sit in parking lots watching some fresh construction and think to myself, “are they building another parking lot?”

i’ve always been really good at math. people always asked me for help with math in high school and college. i think it’s strange that other people aren’t as good as math as i am. i thought everybody had to learn math. i use math all the time to make music now. i was also the captain of my high school soccer team (#8) which totally made me an asset.
