The only place you’ll catch me drinking vodka. One time i went alone in the late afternoon for a crepe and a martini after a day wandering around the city. I’d done the thing where I went to Le Labo to spray a little something on myself before continuing on to Anyway. When I got there, the waitress said i smelled like her late husband and she comped my whole check. I’ll never forget that.

☕I had been wanting to go to this cafe in Greenwich Village for 6 months & I finally went for the first time a couple of weeks ago with a friend who visited. We drank champagne from a hydro flask on the train there and shared a tiramisu at 1 in the morning (it closes at 3) and it was perfect. New York feels the most fun when taking advantage of things being open so late.

🍷I just finished a short tour for my first book coming out in Spain, so that’s probably why I’m obsessed with the general Spanish lifestyle. Literally what could be better than sitting at one of these white-tiled little bars in late morning or late afternoon and having a little glass of vermouth and a toothpick with an olive, spicy pepper, and anchovy? The point isn’t to stay all day; no one is working on their laptop. It’s to spend the perfect half an hour, maybe adding a plate of patatas bravas and a cortado to help you stagger on with your day. (I also assume this is why everyone in Barcelona is always smoking: how else do you recalibrate your body chemistry after the various snacks, booze, and caffeine?)

💅I’ve since relapsed —but as a compulsive nail biter my entire life, I got my first manicure this past winter and for the first time in my life my nails looked presentable. the clear polish is nice like a worry stone for me, satisfying the same urge that biting did—it’s a nice thing to do for yourself every 3 weeks or so I’ve discovered.

💃I think she’s my favorite actor. Volver is my favorite movie, and she generally shines in every Almodovar movie she’s in. I also just watched this movie Competencia Oficial on the plane that she’s amazing in. Just love her. Rooting for her.

💊I swear by these capsules. They’re intense—you take 3 every 3 hours when you’re not feeling tip top. I always have them in my apartment and definitely when I’m on tour. I love to dole them out to my friends like a pharmacist. They will keep you healthy
