I go down YouTube black holes way too often, just watch this. The way she runs off stage kills me every time. My friend’s and I love doing improv bits together and will send voice notes for an entire week back and forth of made up scenarios without actually talking about anything real happening. Maury guests are a great inspiration for me.

My horrid internet mother. I love her content; her NSFL iceberg was fascinating to watch esp when she would explain her philosophy of life, extreme media, etc. It was therapeutic in a way growing up with unrestricted and unmonitored internet access. I will gladly parrot her horror takes any day.

She does deep dives on the most random shit like a haunted screen saver and random horror memes like Charlie the Steak. I usually hear of things for the first time on her channel but then I watch her do a crazy documentary for an hour.

Sue me, I love David Lynch. He loves dreams. He said, “The nervous system functions in a fourth, unique way, as different as dreaming is from sleeping as sleeping is from waking. When you transcend, it's the only experience that lights the full brain on an EEG machine. It's the only experience that utilizes the full brain.” Anytime I have a dream that stays with me when I wake up, I grab my phone and write it down in my notes. Here’s a snippet from a recent one, “I had to put on a gown in the tiniest bathroom. A famous actress grabs my hand and we run to a huge empty room with carpet everywhere. Rolling around on the floor laughing and then she’s crying to me telling me really sad things that are going on in her life. I really wanted to take a picture of the tears on her face but felt like i couldn’t.

I used to only know their demo of the song Good Morning, Captain. A boy from highschool put it on a mix CD he made me, along with some Portishead, Sonic Youth, Eve 6, and Brand New; I would listen to it in my car on the way to volleyball practice. But recently I took a deep dive into everything they did and this album is really something else. If you want the perfect work from home soundtrack for your cold little emo heart, try it out. It’s slow, hard, sad, frantic, and terrifying – everything. Sometimes I really enjoy nauseatingly depressing music even when I’m in a fantastic mood, I don’t know if that’s something I should discuss in therapy; in the meantime, I’ll keep blasting it in my headphones while I’m taking my morning walk to get a coffee.

There’s so many bubble tea spots in Chinatown but this one is by far, the best. Get the passion fruit tea iced, with mango bubbles, twenty percent sugar. Bring cash.
