Having a permanent Marguerite Wibaux sculpture installation on top of my stove with Mara Catalan, Dada Shikako, and Locker Room prints as a backdrop is so much chicer than using one’s oven to store shoes.

This little gallery on Henry Street in Chinatown is the first gallery in the world to focus on olfactory art. (it used to be the only one but another apparently opened in Korea I think). full disclosure: I have a show up there in collab with artist Sean Raspet (open til dec 21) but they do lots of really great shows.

I trace my love of The New Yorker to growing up visiting my grandparents in California. They wallpapered their powder room with New Yorker covers from the 1970s, and the entire look of the room was imprinted on me. When they moved away in the 2010s, I was devastated. Fast forward to 2018, I recreated a version of their bathroom in a gallery in Maryland, teaching myself how to wallpaper from my collection of New Yorker covers—and my cousin’s collection too, turns out he’d also had the same idea to save covers for his own future bathroom. For all you Duchamp heads out there, I loved purchasing a toilet to put on display as art, a nod to his famous work ā€œFountainā€ (1917)!

A great place to discover new writers. This is where I found my current favorite - Ottessa Moshfegh. I started off with short stories, then read every single book she wrote so far.

John Sandweg and Catherine Hunstad at Nixon Peabody in Washington, DC freed the most indefensible ICE detainee in the history of the US. Without them I probably wouldn’t be on a rooftop right now, picking out outfit for tomorrow’s parole check-in while my ankle bracelet is getting charged.
