It’s from Berlin/Vienna, but published in English. The mix of visually splashy art and poetic essays is total brain food. Spiek Art mag also dives into the philsophical "what does this even mean?!" of the art world. Perfect if you’re into deep deep dives and not just surface-level stuff. It always fires up my imagination!

One last thing: Gut Magazine! As I was finishing this up I saw that they are starting a new issue. I found out about Gut through following Joshua Gordon’s work *(great artist all around) and had my mind blown. I have worked as an independent publisher in some capacity all of my adult life and I don’t think anything in that world has excited me as much as what Ami does with her practice has in a very long time. Do yourself a favor and stay informed when that next issue comes out. And if you have any of the early issues, hit me up I need em!

A great place to discover new writers. This is where I found my current favorite - Ottessa Moshfegh. I started off with short stories, then read every single book she wrote so far.

John Sandweg and Catherine Hunstad at Nixon Peabody in Washington, DC freed the most indefensible ICE detainee in the history of the US. Without them I probably wouldn’t be on a rooftop right now, picking out outfit for tomorrow’s parole check-in while my ankle bracelet is getting charged.
