Sitting is getting a bad rep these days. And I get it, it's considered the new smoking. But sometimes I need to walk to a cafe and sit and drink a cup of coffee and listen to the conversation of the couple next to me. Right now Iām writing this at a falafel spot I frequent sitting next to a musician and his manager unaware that I too am a musician. I judge them because the manager pronounced aƧaĆ bowl wrong and I love those things. The musician has never heard of it but assumes it must be āanother dessert for breakfast with a bunch of added sugarā. Later he discusses a music video and says 3:4 aspect ratio instead of 4:3. I hate being a know-it-all god grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can and wisdom to know the difference.

I typed this as I was working in a coffee shop. Idk, thereās something really under appreciated about working in a coffee shop. You can people-watch and itās meditative af. Two of my favorite things in one. Plus a little drink and a snack whenever you want.

I know Iām sooo late to this (Im not a coffee drinker!)- I recently started being a coffee shop regular. Itās enlightening to have a place to chat, run into friends, read, and try new drinks. Sometimes these things feel limited to only alcohol-centric spaces and itās great to have a spot to unwind after work each day. Chai lattes forever and always ā¤ļø

Get a burrito and a latte. Sit with the anxiety of taking up an entire booth yourself while other folks wait for a table. Marinate in the discomfort. Stay a long time.

Where else can you get a pot of tea and cake until 3 in the morning? Ugh, itās awesome. They have a bunch of old chairs and artwork in there. When Iām in cafe Reggio Iām always like why isnāt every cafe like this? Why does every cafe look like a scandinavian wet dream? I want table service. I want coffee mugs. To go shouldnāt even be an option. To go where? Youāre already here.

I've been a very jealous person at times. I'm sure you have too. My biggest pet peeve is people gossiping or complaining about people that they are actually just jealous of. I try my best to notice when I'm acting like this. It's annoying and a waste of your brain. When you're jealous of someone it's because they possess something you don't have. So if I'm feeling jealous I ask myself what do they have that I want? And then I can just add that thing to my ever changing list of desires and detach it from that person.

I can rarely explain why I like this video but Iāll try. At this point on the internet thereās a million hours of content that are more realized than this. Oddly satisfying Instagram accounts. Food pics. Made up games on tik tok. But Koki made this in 2006. We were still a few years off from the food pic and people werenāt really being stupid on the internet yet. They were being dumb and they were being idiots but stupidity is like simple and kinda smart and self-aware. The video reminds me of abstract geometric painting with the saturated colors and basic shapes of all the objects. Like I see it the same way I see a Kazmir Malevich or Wassily Kandisky painting. There's a lot of funny sounds too. It's not quite good enough for the "oddly satisfying" instagram standards of today. Itās more like 6 minutes of mundane hypnosis.
