Gross, but: I love seeing aestheticians post gnarly extractions on Instagram. While scrolling through the #extractions hashtag a few months ago, I realized that car detailers use the hashtag too. Watching these people suction years worth of dirt and grime out of car seats is my favorite smooth brain activity. I don’t have a car! I (can but) don’t drive! I don’t even know how you get a car so dirty!

There’s a triadic spectrum with the following polarities: mentally ill, bad attitude, my wife… @thegirlydemon falls right in the center. She just did a face reveal and turns out she is a hot demon @444utopia is run by this guy Austin who also runs the account @__extendo__ but he strategically deactivates and reactivates the latter — he’s a great poster. The IRS instagram account @irsnews is out of pocket. @watsthecondition for all those who celebrate WGW in earnest. @citibikeboyz is goated forreal.

Something I think about a lot is a W Magazine interview where Annette Bening lists her favorite emojis: “I’ve been using that loudspeaker one. It means I’m making noise about something.” It means I’m making noise about something! That sentence is magic. A store in Greenpoint that feels like a Nora Ephron column. It sells “dinner and party essentials,” which means: caviar, tinned fish, various prosciuttos and cheeses, kooky drinkware, these gluten free crackers I love that don’t taste gluten free. Also: Big Night is the title of a very good Stanley Tucci movie.

Getting shit framed is, by a wide margin, the most adult thing I do. It’s luxurious! I started framing magazines I’d written cover stories for — silly, stupidly celebratory — and now I frame movie posters and stills. (I’m addicted to Posteritati.) Framing is more than an errand, it’s a ritual. It’s a way of saying: “I love this $100 and a custom cut piece of glass-worth.” I go to Framebridge because it’s closest to my apartment.
