While 2020 was a year of wearing mostly no makeup, when Byredo announced they were launching makeup I immediately felt inspired to wear a full face once again. The coolest makeup artist out there, Isamaya Ffrench worked with the brand to create incredible products and some of the best beauty campaign imagery Iāve ever seen. The contrast between the brandās usual minimalist packaging and the weird alien design of the beauty products is striking, but somehow still makes sense for the brand. The packaging is worth the price alone, but the products are great quality and come in the most fun weird range of colors. My two favorite products are the Mascara and the Prism Palette.

story time! in high school i was so insecure that i literally would not leave the house without doing at least 30-40 mins of full face makeup. i decided to stop wearing it my senior year and became really determined to put it away for good.
but slowly over the last several years, i reintroduced mascara, then a tiny bit of concealer, then a little eyeliner, and now iāve found a routine that feels right for me! and i do not rely on it like i used to, i can walk outside without makeup and feel totally good about myself.
but ive also been scared of getting too much back into makeup. iāve been holding myself back because i donāt want to bring up those old insecurities and become completely reliant on it again. but i just bought a very colorful eyeshadow to try and it reminded me how fun it can be!!!
long story short, have fun with bringing color back into your life. dont let fears of regression stop you from experiencing joy!

I was an early adapter to this, just saying. I have my lips tattooed in the color Pillow Talk by Charlotte Tillbury (great investment tbh) so when I want to have that ābeautiful 60s Mediterranean female lead in a movieā look, I reach for the Bisou Balm in Amor Fou. They also make a great liquid eyeshadow.Ā

Iām certainly no stranger to feeling down about myself or not believing in myself, but I can usually pull myself out of those slumps with a face of makeup and a great outfit. Put on those jeans!! That skirt!! Those shoes!! Whatever makes you feel hot as shit, feeling hot is one of the only things we have anymore! I feel hot in black tights and a black skirt! Throw it on, and own your socially-distanced gathering!!! YOU are smart, cool, funny, and stunning!! And make sure to tell your friends theyāre hot too!

Ok, this is a more obscure rec but bear with me. I recently started spending weekend days strolling into a new used book store in the Lower East Side called Sweet Pickle Books. The store has become a comforting place to make a quick cheap purchase for me, and also my go-to store for presents. Every time I go in there I find myself picking up books with the coolest names or covers and just buying them hoping Iāll like them. Iām currently reading J.G. Ballardās Super-Cannes which I probably would have never even known about had I not stumbled upon it and thought the cover looked cool. I suggest this method for branching out from your usual genres or authors.

I like working out, but the hardest part for me is getting up to actually do it. I try to entice myself to rise to the challenge with nice workout clothing that I think looks cool and makes me feel hot. Of course, this method has to include my workout gear as well. I started working out at home during the pandemic doing a mix of various workout videos, with my fave being @isaacboots Instagram live workouts, which require wrist and ankle weights. I decided to splurge on these very chic weights from bala bangles, because like 50% of the enjoyment of working out for me is the post workout selfies. They also make sleek hand weights if youāre not an ankle weight person.
