Working from home has set zero boundaries for me between work time and play time. I have a really, really short attention span. My focus has plummeted in past few months and I knew I needed to change. Deep Work are rules that help you focus better in a distracted world. It has done me wonders in the past few weeks. The anecdotes are really inspiring and it really has been pushing me to be better when I'm trying to get stuff done.Okay, also just wanna note that I don’t even have the attention span to physically read. So this book is available in audio form as well, which is how I’ve actually been ā€œreadingā€ this book.

The ultimate get-off-your-ass creative manual. It's SO GOOD and SO INSPIRING and I have demanded people's address at bars many times and ordered a copy for them on the spot. Plus reading about doing the work is a lot easier than doing the work (and still counts as work).

I haven’t finished it yet, but the title makes it sound like a Silicon Valley-ass productivity self help book but it’s NOT! It’s quite literally the opposite! I attached a better description of the book :)

So I read way too much fiction so Im trying to balance it out by listening to nonfiction audiobooks that will give me some life skills hehe. I started with this book (spotify audiobook linked) and i really like it so far! my mom recommended it to me and its really interesting so far because it follows Adlerian Psychology and I just love learning about different psychological perspectives and such. Theres also another book called The Courage to be Happy by the same authors and its definitely going to be my next listen.

I’ve never been to Disney as a kid and as I grew older I always felt like I was too old for it. I spontaneously tagged along with my family the day before they left and I think that was the best decision I’ve ever made. I’m a huge fan of Star Wars and Avatar, and even as an adult I think I had the best week of my life and I felt like a kid again. I legitimately had real tears of joy on some of the rides. It’s never too late!

While everyone is raving about their trendy nonstick pans, I’m here to bring the spotlight back to cast iron cookware. There’s a huge stigma around how hard it is to take care of cast irons, but it’s really not bad! You just gotta keep using it, and over time, it basically becomes nonstick. This article has sent off a tangent, and now I am a proud owner of a well-seasoned cast iron pan and griddle.

Excessively hiking this year has been so fun, but the other half of the fun is the technical hiking apparel that goes with it - oh, and wearing only hiking gear even when I’m not hiking. I really appreciate Japan’s love for outdoor style and culture. GO OUT’s web magazine has been my daily morning check-in and my biggest outdoor gear inspiration. I recently picked up a few of their physical magazines (it’s hard to come by in the US) and I really enjoy flipping through them every now and then. Contrary to typical magazines that we’re used to, GO OUT magazines are basically beefed up catalogs of goodies and collabs that make for great coffee table content.
