During stressful times, at one point in our life, we arrive at meditation to try to keep our minds at bay. For a lot of people in this day in age, it starts with guided meditations through apps like Headspace. I haven't tried Headspace personally, but I've heard mixed reviews where it has or hasn't worked. I feel like anything that lives in my phone is an automatic distraction for me. I personally started meditating through a book recommended by a friend, The Miracle of Mindfulness, written by Thich Nhat Hanh, a world-renowned monk who is also a peace activist. What really reeled me in was that it covered the whys in why we meditate, and it inspired me to learn more and practice it everyday. Whether you've unsuccessfully trialed meditation or haven't at all, I highly recommend learning to meditate through a book like this one :)
I started reading this book called Seeking The Heart of Wisdom which is about meditation and how to bring meditating into your every day life. Itās really helped me calm tf down! Every morning I take a few minutes just think set my intentions for the day, or goals for the week or month or even the year! Helps me stay grounded. highly recommend!!

I actually saw a recommendation on here for a fantastic video from Christopher Germer on YT. Upon further exploration of his channel I learnt about loving kindness meditations. I did a guided loving kindness meditation from him channel and It was a really beautiful and healing experience that left me feeling happy and grateful. I downloaded the calm app and have now been meditating daily and writing down what Iām grateful for. Would highly recommend
Iāve never been to Disney as a kid and as I grew older I always felt like I was too old for it. I spontaneously tagged along with my family the day before they left and I think that was the best decision Iāve ever made. Iām a huge fan of Star Wars and Avatar, and even as an adult I think I had the best week of my life and I felt like a kid again. I legitimately had real tears of joy on some of the rides. Itās never too late!
While everyone is raving about their trendy nonstick pans, Iām here to bring the spotlight back to cast iron cookware. Thereās a huge stigma around how hard it is to take care of cast irons, but itās really not bad! You just gotta keep using it, and over time, it basically becomes nonstick. This article has sent off a tangent, and now I am a proud owner of a well-seasoned cast iron pan and griddle.
Excessively hiking this year has been so fun, but the other half of the fun is the technical hiking apparel that goes with it - oh, and wearing only hiking gear even when Iām not hiking. I really appreciate Japanās love for outdoor style and culture. GO OUTās web magazine has been my daily morning check-in and my biggest outdoor gear inspiration. I recently picked up a few of their physical magazines (itās hard to come by in the US) and I really enjoy flipping through them every now and then. Contrary to typical magazines that weāre used to, GO OUT magazines are basically beefed up catalogs of goodies and collabs that make for great coffee table content.
