Scott is an old friend from school. We bonded over Radiohead, Debussy, and making detail-oriented architectural rock music during the Spotify âbedroom popâ era. Scott is the type of musician who makes music constantly and releases it sporadically. Heâs one of my favorite songwriters and an expert texturalist. Check out his single âNo Changes,â the âShelter Island Heightsâ EP, which I consider the classic era of his early work, or âOne of a Kind,â my personal favorite.

I first found out about him when he performed in Porter Robinsonâs Secret Sky Fest in 2021, and the rest is history. His music to me has just been the perfect combo of the most formative genres to me growing up, like the alt-rock I would listen to on the school bus radio, and the electronic music one of my high school besties put me on to. Itâs just so nostalgic for me yet feels so fresh at the same time.
And then in 2023 he put out his second EP âEverything Perfectâ and holy shit!!! I saw and continue to see a lot of myself in that project with just how much of a ride love can be, especially if itâs unrequited.
I saw James Ivy perform live at the Bowery Ballroom supporting that album and it was one of the best and most fun nights of my life. I can go on and on but Iâll stop myself here hehe

I just found out about James K and I have been so enthralled by their music. It feels fresh and breezy and makes me feel like it's actually NEW to my ears and not something rehashed. It also reminds me of my close friend :)

the original track and album are iconic for obvious reasons, but jamie brings a dreamy, ethereal quality to the production and sampling that elevates this track to some kind of angelic transmission from another realm

Yes itâs true, Iâm a Star Wars Prequels sympathizer. Cry about it. You are a midwit or probably too old to get it if you hate on them. Natalie Portman is great in them, and Hayden Christensen is not a bad actor, Anakin just has aspergers. I donât cosign the Disney stuff.
