One of my favorite activities. When I was tiny, my sweet Gram taught me the importance of staying connected with loved ones. Every week she’d send out cards for fun and never forgot a birthday or anniversary. I have a collection of her cards saved from over the years; they’re essentially the only tangible items left for me from after her passing. Her pretty handwriting and thoughtful messages always hit me with a wave of nostalgia and pure love.
Whenever I see a museum exhibition I pick up a postcard of a work I like and write my great-grandma (100 yrs old, bless her!) a note. She became a painter later in life, her paintings of roses are some of my favorites of all time. I love sending her a little bit of NYC whenever I can. ☺️
My sister and I talk nearly every single day, but we still send each other letters and post cards on the reg. I feel like we can be much more open and vulnerable over letters than either of us can be over text. We also get to look for cards And stickers and postcards and prints and tiny things that we know the other would like to make it more personal.
at first it was just custom of travelling, randomly being reminded of your best friends while experiencing life. now i send snail mail to my friends when i miss them ⭐️
• STONE FRUIT! peaches, nectarines, plums, apricots, CHERRIES. the best! • melon: cantaloupe, honeydew, watermelon • grapes (has anyone had frozen cotton candy grapes? my fav on a hot summer day) • figs! • berries: blackberries, raspberries, blueberries, strawberries • an obvious one lol but tomatoes! heirloom time 😍 • zucchini & squash • green beans • artichoke • okra • CORN! 🫶 i somehow haven’t posted one of these in over a year- getting back into it with my absolute favorite summer fruit and veggie month! 💘 y'all know what to do: comment your favorite recipes below 🥹
