I usually watch Minecraft videos to go to sleep, but recently I switched to Sims 4 build videos. I stumbled upon this channel called CarynandConnieGaming, where its these twin sisters from Texas who have a crazy good knack for interior design. Both Caryn and Connie are kinda Christian girl autumn vibes, but I think Caryn is a little more complex; she might’ve had an emo phase or something. Connie has an affinity for string lights. Caryn is cracked with the roofing. This new pack called ā€œHorse Ranchā€ just dropped and I’m super on a farmhouse wave right now, so I’m having the time of my life watching these videos. I have yet to play The Sims.

my recs in YouTube are spoiled with rpdr and kpop vids, but i still keeping track of new videos on some of my favorite channels DamiLee channel is one of them, i like her videos so much! She is talking about architecture, and always sharing a lot of interesting information and giving ideas to think about. I personally like her video about different architecture in movies, the one where she discussed the design of prisons, and the new one about bunkers and living in the post apocalyptic world

Kel Lauren - They make videos on graphic design, but I find them really entertaining, even as someone who has no interest in being a graphic designer. Every time I watch their videos, I just feel instantly relaxed. I don't think they've been posting as much lately, but they have a great & unique backlog of vids to go through! Something very different from what other YT'ers are doing. Ashley Norton - If you like Mic's Mike, Ashley's content is in in a similar fun, pop-culture commentary vein. Hers is more straightforward talking with less fun gimmicks (no wall-webs like Mike does), but she's still very funny and compassionate in her approach to topics. She covers nostalgic topics like old bandom drama and 2000s/early 2010s TV stars/shows. I like that she seems to focus on what she's interested in, instead of recycling the same discourse/hot topics that the algorithm pushes. Mila Tequila - She does a lot of longform retrospectives on 2000s phenomenons, so they're really good for putting on and listening to while you're painting, cleaning, etc. I also appreciate that she doesn't have the specific type of boring, monotone, video-essay voice that can make a lot of people zone out! Hers feels more conversational. Casey Aonso & UnCarley - Both do some fun pop culture tier list ranking vids that I think Mike's Mic enjoyers would like! UnCarley does some videos similar to his style with wall webs & Casey's whole channel is great. ModernGurlz & Mina Le - Have some great fashion content! Modern Gurlz has some really interesting trend analysis videos & Mina Le does great interesting commentary on fashion history. As for individual videos, this one had some refreshing relatability & charm that I feel like I haven't seen in a hot second on YouTube: https://youtu.be/ZFhA26rPNy4?si=d9bmyekxAEv0zC5s

I’ve got a big list of road trip movies that I’m tryna knock out. There’s a lot of titular road trip movies I haven’t seen: National Lampoon, Almost Famous, Fear and Loathing, etc. I realized though that if the definition of a road trip movie expands to being about getting from point A to point B, then so many more movies can fit under that. Like it’s not just Thelma and Louise, but like Mad Max: Fury Road, or Brüno. The SpongeBob Movie. I just watched Planes, Trains, and Automobiles for the first time; that might be objectively the best one.Another related thing I’m obsessed with at the moment: fonts designated for road signage. Highway Gothic in particular is incredible. I’m not crazy about the other font, Clearview, though; a bit too round for me. Those are both the American fonts, though. I just went to Europe for the first time recently, and Transport — the font used for most UK/EU signage — blows both of these out of theĀ water.

Since I was young, I’ve been obsessed with the airport. Over the past couple years, I’ve been fortunate enough to be able to see a lot more airports due to shows and stuff. I’m currently working on a mental tier list of airports that I’ve been to in the United States. LaGuardia in NYC is kinda up there right now; I love the silly water feature. I also think the Salt Lake City airport is gorgeous, even if the way they handle transferring between concourses is kinda inconvenient.I flew in and out of Seattle for a show recently and I was super impressed by it. They seemed to have recently renovated the central terminal, so now there’s this super open food court. I went to one of the new restaurants there and got lobster mac and cheese (definitely a risk; don’t get seafood at the airport). I’m not proud of how much I spent on it, but it was realllyyyy good. They’ve also got a really reliable tram for transfer between gates. SEA-TAC: A tier.

The first music I remember listening to was the trifecta of Madonna, Britney Spears, and Justin Timberlake. I remember being obsessed with all three of ā€˜em when I was like five years old or something. I’m on a Justin Timberlake kick right now because I had this realization while looking at the tracklist and song lengths for FutureSex/LoveSounds that the first music I was sentient for was kinda weird. That album isĀ weird, like just stare at the tracklist for a second. Like ā€œMedley: Let Me Talk to You / My Love (feat. T.I.)ā€? ā€œLoveStoned / I Think She Knows (Interlude)ā€? What was heĀ thinking? He’s also just this default guy, like you’d spawn in as Justin Timberlake. And he’s goofy. I think the reason FutureSex is so good is ā€˜cause it was just him and Timbaland, like, beatboxing at each other and being like, ā€œYoooo, that’s hard, put it in.ā€
