I think these guys wrote an anime intro or something? Or maybe an entire soundtrack? Not really my lane, but that's how people seem to know them. I'm here to rave about their god-tier run of Power-Pop in the late 90s with albums like HAPPY BIVOUAC and LITTLE BUSTERS. The Hoikkaido-based group has anthemic singalongs like LITTLE BUSTERS' title track, songs named after the legendary Kim Deal (of Breeders & Pixies fame), acoustic cuts that'd sound at home on a Pinkerton, and perfect almost Dookie-esq rock tracks like Crazy Sunshine. So much fun to listen to. Especially if you're driving on a highway in the sunshine !

I think their band name is awful lol, but their music is great. It reminds me of early Shout Out Louds stuff, so much so that I got this weird nostalgic dislocation to my high school sense of self during the first listen. Anyway if you like catchy and anthemic choruses over mellow yet crisp grooves then check them out.
😃
In high school a girl I liked recommended their music, and I pretended to like them in hopes she might take an interest in me, but I'm sure she saw right through it. I confessed I didn't actually like the band and we never spoke much after that. Flash forward I am in college and for some reason, the band found me again, and I have been unable to put them down for about 3 months now. It's gotten to the point where I cannot get into my car without immediately queuing an album of theirs, and my friends are beginning to give me shit for it (which is totally fair). My favorite tracks atm (in no particula order) go as follows: - menswear - settle down - give yourself a try - she's American - happiness I know the band gets a bad rep because the lead bloke is a piece of shit, but the rhythms and melodies are too much to ignore for me so I find myself humming and tapping my feet incessantly throughout the day to all of their songs. Now I'm not the first man, nor will I be the last, to discover this band and think it's the greatest thing since sliced bread (well, self-titled certainly is), but while I am having my time with them, i will enjoy them to the fullest. I'd like to Write more about this band, as I feel like I have a lot to say about them, just not at this very moment. It is 4:20 in the A.M., I have my stupid busboy job in about 8 hours and it's going to be dreadful as I'll have to wake up and be a person. Oh well.

i've been a fan since i saw them in 2014 when they opened for paramore and fall out boy. that whole concert will forever be one of my all time favorites. the vibes were immaculate. the singer is so fun to watch, and they all look like they really enjoy what they do. I really wish they would have a headlining tour because they are way too good to be opening for other bands still to this day. i need to see them do a full set one day! 'disappear here' is one of my all time favorite albums! it is just banger after banger, no skips whatsoever. my favorites being 'off she goes', 'swimming in the moonlight', and 'even in my dreams i cant win'. their whole discography sounds like being your happiest self outside in warm summer sunshine.

tomorrow PI.FYI launches to the public this project is the result of thousands of hours spent coding everything from scratch after I got laid off six months ago no thiel-bucks or weirdo outsider money, just a pure desire to make something fun and true to Perfectly Imperfect’s day one goal of helping people find new things from real human beings, not algorithms or AI a pure labor of love that I’ve been quietly plotting for two years and it’s completely self-funded from my (rapidly) dwindling savings account so thank you for coming along for this weird ride 🫶 let's see where it goes
