I recently rewatched this movie that was one of my favorites growing up, only to find that it was better and more thoughtful than I remembered. The acting is genius around the board. Originally it was written by Roald Dahl, writer of Matilda and James and the Giant Peach and tons of other amazing books that became movies. Not only is the plot mesmerizing, but the songs in this movie are too. I couldnāt believe how good some of the melodies were, I was brought to tears like twice. Very inspirational to hear if you make or like music. Not to get too negative but the 2005 Johnny Depp one and the recent one wit Timothy C are big time pathetic in comparison :/ I had to stop both within 20 mins! Iām not much of a movie person but id recommend the 71 Willy Wonka with Gene Wilder to anybody.
