Marathon maddie recommended these to me as great recovery sandals. I mostly just stomp around in the apartment in them, but they’re definitely super comfy.

Flip-flops are the superior footwear. My soul slowly necrotizes anytime I have to put on socks and closed-toe shoes. Unfortunately, I developed Plantar fasciitis this year and my podiatrist said I needed to lose my preferred flops—Chang Dao natural rubber flip-flops. I started looking through the usual suspects of recovery sandals from athletic shoe companies. Hideous. And too many slides and not enough thongs. I hate slides. But I did break down and buy some foam Birk slides as house slippers. They are very comfortable. I would not be caught dead outside with them. A month later, I was delighted to discover that Birkenstock released honest to goodness flip-flops. My feelings quickly soured once I saw them. Also hideous. I don't know why I expected different. There hasn't been a visually acceptable Birk to date. I turned to my last resort: Reddit. And was directed to an uninspiringly named brand called Archies. Their flops weren't an assault on the eyes so I ordered a pair keeping my expectations low. After a month with them, they're winners. Archies aren't playing around. It's like they just glued a thong on an orthopedic insert. They're light, stick to your feet like glue, and look fucking normal. They've been a god-send after running my half marathon. Recommended.

I wear these sandals basically every day during the summer and never tire of them. They put up with the tough NYC streets and are the only sandals I’ve found comfortable enough to wear during a full day of bopping around the city. The royal blue is truly the perfect blue, but looking at these again, should I also snag a pair in the berry color yes or no?

tomorrow PI.FYI launches to the public this project is the result of thousands of hours spent coding everything from scratch after I got laid off six months ago no thiel-bucks or weirdo outsider money, just a pure desire to make something fun and true to Perfectly Imperfect’s day one goal of helping people find new things from real human beings, not algorithms or AI a pure labor of love that I’ve been quietly plotting for two years and it’s completely self-funded from my (rapidly) dwindling savings account so thank you for coming along for this weird ride 🫶 let's see where it goes
