A not-very-deep-cut city pop song. I like to listen to songs like this with coffee. Someone sampled this song not too long bonus points if you guess who.

From: Tokyo, Japan Genre: Minimal Synth, Bedroom Pop LP: Before Sunrise (2021) In the year or so I’ve been doing my radio show, I’ve discovered more new-to-me music than I have at any other point in my life, and Nana Yamato sits right near the top of the pile. Recorded when she was 20 and released by Andrew Savage (of Parquet Courts) on his label Dull Tools, Before Sunrise is cut after cut of perfect, low-key electronic pop. The opener ‘Do You Wanna,’ especially, is a gem of a song and would not sound out of place next to tracks by Deux, Ruth, Gay Cat Park, Drinking Electricity, or any other minimal synth luminaries. Every person I’ve played this song for has been hooked. Here’s hoping we hear from her again sooner rather than later.

I've been obsessed with this song lately. The soft and soothing vocals along with the plucked electric guitar that sounds like twinkling stars in a clear and warm summer night sky are nothing short of beautiful and incredibly catchy Check out the translated lyrics as well to round out this melancholic yet hopeful and upbeat track
