My mom is super Italian-American so we do the feast of the seven fishes every year on Christmas Eve. Growing up it was always my mom and grandma cooking but the past few years my siblings and I do most of the cooking and my mom and grandma sort of knowingly oversee. It's nice to feel we're picking up the responsibility and continuing the traditions. A lot of traditions are lame and archaic and stupid, but eating linguine with clams and mussels instead of ham and turkey seems like a good one to keep up.
