Oh no, I can envision seeking out and using weird channel fx (on my 10+ track Ableton mixes) just so that I can use THOSE to get a sound and also trying to find ones where /5 is slightly less awful. NOOOOO.
For music production nerds out there In Logic Pro X the BPM will auto reset to 5 if you do this. I loaded up a project with samples of orchestral arrangements and drum loops - everything breaths and comes out of the speakers and headphones in thickness and separation, you can feel the space between each note and the funk/groove melt within your ears. simply put you can chop and screw/slow and throw entire groups of strings or basses or vocals to very cinematic effect If you want to get demented you can add automation for volume or tempo changes
my friend @BROKTHECASBAH and i had a great conversation about hybrid mixing recently. if you make / like music, i think you’ll enjoy this, and if you mix music, you will absolutely enjoy this. if you want to be surrounded by vintage synthesizers but you don‘t have $50,000 to spare, this is your ticket. this is also my first attempt at a “cinematic yt doc.” i’m proud of it, and i’m going to make a lot more of them. hit the link for the wisdom brok and i attempted to share while we were mixing “Between the Jaws and the Open Collar.”
don’t you wish for your music to mirror breath, journey and return, a natural pace. do you want to hear a song and imagine boxes in a project file? nah…
