Forget Depop, Vestiaire and don't even mention The RealReal, selling your worldly shit on eBay is the way to go. I keep my descriptions short and sweet - the longer you tend to waffle on, the more license that grumpy aunt from Minnesota feels she has to ask you about the fabric composition of a $16 shirt from Banana Republic that you thrifted from Beacon's Closet. And not to brag, but I've been on there since 2016 and I pride myself on 100% positive customer reviews.

From the thrill of discovery, making bids, the buzz of a score or anguish of a could-have-been, a random box showing up that has been packed by some dude in Minnesota… I love it. The best way to shop is either setting a hyper-specific alert for something and finding it five years from now or by typing in all the potential typos it could have, or either searching for a vague combinations of names and details and seeing what comes up. Embellished pearl sweaters? Art deco servewear? Plastic organizers? There’s probably also something good about reuse and sustainability here too. The only thing I don’t love is that my saved searches and watchlist are full so I have to keep deleting and replacing, but never change, eBay.

feel so chic-ly 00s being on ebay rather than the apps and being able to write my deranged little captions in peace

I KNOW WHAT YOU'RE THINKING.... lots of discourse about this topic. But I'm not talking about going to thrift stores and buying items just to mark them up. If you're a girl with an overflowing closet of stuff you barely wear like me ... sell your shit on depop. I've made close to $1000 this year just getting rid of stuff that I already have - not a TON of money but it's not nothing. And it's incredibly easy. I spend probably 1.5hrs a week on the app listing stuff and make a good amount of passive income on it. It's p much free money. DO IT!!!

Yes, it’s 5 hours without an intermission. I saw it in Melbourne in 2013 and went back to see it again in the same run. It’s been over 10 years (wowwie!) and I can’t think of another piece of art that has imprinted on my imagination the way that performance did. I was also eighteen years old and green and wide-eyed! What a time that was.

I have to start off this recommendation with an apology, as for all your Northern Hemisphere-based folks wont be able to find this easily as I stock up when I go home to Australia. BUT, in all my years of hunting for the perfect white t-shirt that hangs just right, I have found my holy grail. Specifically, the Boody men’s crew neck t-shirt (NOT the new ā€œclassicā€ which is mostly viscose, ew), bit the original which is 95% bamboo. I buy them in a Small and they are the perfect oversized t-shirt. Buttery soft, expensive-looking and, most importantly, stay looking fresh after they’ve tumbled about in a washing machine. I’m hoarding a few!
