Non exhaustive list: -A 8 pack of Michael’s from brooklyn pasta sauce -dozens of movie premiers -concert tickets -ikea gift card -box of hair care -a literal trip to LA ( couldn’t redeem bc it was fixed dates and I was already out of the country during the time of the trip)

I got locked out of spotify (don’t even ask) and can’t get back in for a little, and in the meantime i’m listening to more local radio, which means i get to enter all of the awesome contests theyve got going on. I don’t even care if I win, it’s just so fun to enter

Great way to expand your horizons musically. I get trapped in my own wheelhouse a lot, so it’s nice to hear stuff from completely out of the algorithmically generated left field. Highly curated all vinyl shows helmed by gray haired disk jockeys prone to rambling. Or mumbly college kids hooking their phones up to play from their playlists. Its nice. Adds a neat local flavor to life too. Won tickets to see Thundercat via a KXLU sweepstakes. Called immediately after and won tickets to see KAYTRANADA. Nobody else called in I guess.

COLLEGE RADIO
I’m a DJ at my local station, KGLT :) it’s so fun! People at the grocery store and stuff stop me and tell me about how much they love my show sometimes. Super rewarding and wholesome. I also love using spinitron for an alternative to streaming algorithm radio when I want to hear something new (I work a warehouse job so I can’t always DJ for myself). it has live streaming from like, 300 stations across the country. super super fun. Today I found this station in Maine and the DJ on air was this guy who hasn’t done a show for 30 years playing a bunch of forgotten Maine jam bands that were super sick - can’t get that stuff from the Spotify algo
