Happened upon this record while browsing a store yesterday and listened tonight. light and breezy Egyptian singer with notes of jazz, pop, disco. Opens with a live renedition of the album (which besides that recording is only 3 tracks).
I imagine this would be perfect for a summer night, but instead I am savoring it in the dead of winter.
Exotic Love Song and Instrumentals from the Egyptian 60's
Beautiful compilation that I used to be absolutely obsessed with. Perfect listen for the spring time! Sadly I don't speak Arabic but the sweet and diverse sounds speak for themselves.
Favorite Track: Asmar Ya Sokkar 🌸
contemplative 70s Lebanese folk rock (but mostly sung in english), perfect for fall. Side A is slower and side B has some real bangers, but i think “Waiting for it everyday” is one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard
