Every time she begins a new era I have so much fun going back to Charli’s debut. It STILL HITS. Some general thoughts:
1) Nuclear Seasons…summah lovin in the back seat gon! 2) Stay Away - wild that this was one of her early singles. So dark and moody. The way she ennunciates “ech-oh” and “ah-rrrow” 🫨 3) Cloud Aura with Brooke Candy - an iconic early flop, which I think she learned a lot from and rarely missed after this with her features 4) What I Like - my favorite. The “ahhh” vocal fries, she really walked so the girls of the 2020s could run!
What moments do ya’ll love? And are you loving von dutch?

The opening track Backseat feat. Carly Rae Jepsen immediately went onto my windows down, heater on playlist. I must've listened to just that song on repeat for days after I first heard it.

obviously ms. xcx has received lots of attention and acclaim this year from the bombshell brat album(s) and era. undoubtely iconic! well, i've been a super huge charli fan, an angel if you will (iykyk) and i really cannot reccomend this album enough. it means the literal world to me. it came out in 2020 and we all know what occurred that year. how i'm feeling now comforted me in a time of total discomfort.
how i'm feeling now is fairly sonically and thematically similar to brat. i believe in her zane lowe idea, charli even referred to it as brat's cousin or sister ? (if you know please comment but i'm probably gonna look it up after i write this anyways lol). how i'm feeling now has a certain.... je ne sais pas... quality to it. how i'm feeling now is influenced heavily by hyper-pop. it explores love, friendship, distance, isolation, longing, and of partying of course! my favorite tracks are anthems, forever, visions, party 4 u, and pink diamond... that's like half the album tee hee. i love that the simple prose with complex meanings (ie; charli's whole discography)

⭐Up until recently, I’ve always struggled with winding down & being extremely intentional about actively deciding to go to sleep.
I used to take a lot of pride in being able to just stay up for as long as possible while being able to run on little to no sleep, so sleep was very much something I saw as a product of pure exhaustion – to sleep only when I’m truly exhausted and have done everything that needed to get done!
As soon as I turned 25, my body felt like it took a screenshot & it all caught up with me. Now I am the World’s Sleepiest Coziest Girl and I look very forward to getting in my pajamas, hitting the melatonin, turning on my sound machine and having the most insane dreams imaginable 🫶🏾 (Bonus points if I remember to make myself a cup of tea beforehand)
The ritual of getting ready for bed is honestly still something I’m trying to get better at – less screentime, more leisure – but that’s a mission for another day. Until then, GOOD NIGHT ❤️
