hidden in the heart of the most annoying tech bro neighborhood (hayes valley) exists this teeny tiny shop that sells kapital & porter imported from japan. the owner hates how annoying me and my gf are when we go in there (but in an endearing way) we are annoying <3
recently stumbled across this lil shop run by a couple with a bajillion leather belts of all types. you can custom and have a lovely conversation as opposed to shop for same products in big, souless corporations like zara or urban outfitters. these type of shops exist for pretty much everything, just look for it. It makes the act of purchasing so much more interesting as there's a story attached to the person who sold it to you. I've also found it to be cheaper/ same price but the quality obviously better. What was intended to be a trip to the Musuem of Modern Art (the very best) ended up being a trip to the Paloma Wool pop-up in SoHo. I love fashion but Iโve never been so fascinated and appreciative of a brand until I discovered Paloma Wool (so underground, I know). The set up of the store was so specific and well thought out in a way that made the environment truly beautiful. It was an elevated retail experience if you will. Iโm broke as fuck. However, I got to try on a few pieces and it was really special. My mom quite literally shed tears of joy when I came out of the dressing room in one of their dresses. 10/10 - would recommend stopping by. It gave me a new appreciation for curation and art direction in fashion. Very, very cool experience. #soho #palomawool #fashion
