Having binged my way through many a bloated podcast series last year (more edits in post and fewer ads for BetterHelp, please!), Iâd become a bit fatigued by the offerings until Stolen Hearts. Maybe itâs the influence of my northern English childhood, but I was hooked from the start. Itâs naive-in-love story meets gritty cop drama and it all happened to the host, who is a natural storyteller. Just donât listen to it when you have a deadline to meet!
dood this might be the best podcast iâve ever heardâŚâŚ.. itâs like finding lost media but for people. the jist: itâs stories about ykno. someone on the street saying something kind to you on the worst day of your life like 40 years ago that impacted you profoundly. anyways the podcast crew will go out and FIND THE PERSON or long lost parrot or archbishop of scotland or middle school crush or whatever and get them on the pod for catharsis. itâs really something else ive never torn thru a podcast like this/ been made to cry via podcast.
love this podcast if you havenât listened, definitely give it a try! I got onto it after my prof for social psychology assigned a few episodes. love the documentary elements, there are episodes that have really stuck with me!
very heart wrenching stuff but poignantly put and relatable none the less. I cried while brushing my teeth listening to it, as it really did put my world in perspective (perhaps at too early of a moment) and made me so introspective of my relationships and my time on this earth. (And the story pick was really sweet too!)
Yes, itâs 5 hours without an intermission. I saw it in Melbourne in 2013 and went back to see it again in the same run. Itâs been over 10 years (wowwie!) and I canât think of another piece of art that has imprinted on my imagination the way that performance did. I was also eighteen years old and green and wide-eyed! What a time that was.

Pay-in-4 - itâs a money trap, friends. Save your coins! By the time youâve saved up the $, you might not want it.
Dogs with backpacks (smelling treats but not being able to access them is a special kind of torture)
Carrying everything you need (then you miss out on the beauty of that spontaneous Duane Reade trip where you leave with mint-flavoured toothpicks and a bag of gummies! What were you there for again??)
I have to start off this recommendation with an apology, as for all your Northern Hemisphere-based folks wont be able to find this easily as I stock up when I go home to Australia. BUT, in all my years of hunting for the perfect white t-shirt that hangs just right, I have found my holy grail. Specifically, the Boody menâs crew neck t-shirt (NOT the new âclassicâ which is mostly viscose, ew), bit the original which is 95% bamboo. I buy them in a Small and they are the perfect oversized t-shirt. Buttery soft, expensive-looking and, most importantly, stay looking fresh after theyâve tumbled about in a washing machine. Iâm hoarding a few!
