If you like something heavily woody, hinoki by CDG is beautiful and is very much just a solid wood scent. Floriental is a sweeter woody scent if you’re open to sweet. Dior poisonous is warm and sweet sort of in a rootbeer gourmand way, but has rosewood, musk, and sandalwood. Smell that one first if you can just in case. Fleur De Peau and La Papier by Diptyque as well as Studied by Liis are all very similar to Glossier You if you like those paper-y skin like scents. I’d say Liis is a more intense twin of You but they’re all similar. I haven’t smelled Piano Santal by L’Orchestre Parfum but I’d look into the notes. They may intrigue you. I plan on sampling soon. If you ever want a beautifully warm and cozy gourmand, check out Winter of 99 by Kerosene. Smells like nutmeg and has a bit of wood and vanilla. Cozy and warm but imo, not nauseatingly sweet like many gourmands.

I’m so here for this! If you like those paper/skin scents, I have to recommend Porter Sa Peau L'Objet Parfumant by Roberto Greco:  “Porter sa peau (wearing one's skin) is the reflection of my way of thinking – deformed as it may be – and of my life experience. Wearing my skin like I’d wear blinders, to see better and farther, has been my way of looking into myself through a series of photographs. I have had to lean down to perceive the shimmering image of another me. Naturally, the narcissus flower was the obvious choice when I started thinking of this fragrance with the perfumer Rodrigo Flores-Roux. Beyond its symbolism, its ambivalent facets expressed the rawness of nature as well as a more carnal imagery. To materialize the grainy and misty texture I gave to my images, in which perceptual confusion gives way to a form of clarity, we have played on the nostalgia of aldehydes, blowing cool and hot facets. The floral down of pale hawthorn blends with the insidious velvet touch of moist flesh, before vanishing into the animalic fumes of salty musks and an ambergris accord." I also really like Muscs Koublai Khan and Salome for full on skanky skin and body odor scents. I also really love sandalwood with actua ambergris in it because it’s stinky and sexy at the same time. I always tell people that there are stages to getting obsessed with perfume: first you want to smell good, then you want to smell intereating and finally you want to smell repulsive.

caroline omg thank you so much!! I didn’t start getting into fragrances until recently but honestly some is out of smelling at nordstrom, some is just by browsing fragrantica and ordering samples online, and some is by twitter scrolling. All the ones I’m most familiar with are just ones I also like myself! My fragrantica profile is at fragrantica.com/member/1924506 if you want to check it out :3 🫶💌

went to a cinema club - this is what it's all about. community is real! even in the city! it's not all over. i watched natural enemies and boxing helena with my friend and ally charlie. the first was awesome, the second was less so - but arguably more fun. sherilyn fenn is not a star, she is something else entirely.

Using your lungs for good and bad. Cancelling out the smoke with cardio. The bliss of a cigarette while walking through a big city in the fairly cold weather is an experience I can only describe as joyous and freeing.

You can’t all be writers. Some of you must become blue collar workers. My blue collar bf made me a coffee table and now I get to think fondly of him when I look at it in my living room (I was likely thinking fondly of him before that anyways).
He has no idea I brag about him and that table at least 3 times a week.
