immersive sim pioneer, u really feel like ur in-game actions have consequences, extremely cheap when on sale on steam (tho make sure u do the prerequisite goty edition fixes before u play, check the reviews)

its a perfect post work game, get home grind some bugs, existential crisis, go to bed. it is also becoming sort of an ARG experience from its social media presence, and with the gameplay loop it feels really cool to see in game actions affect *anything at all* besides my dopamine receptors

Diy survival (emphasis on survival) horror russian game from 05 <3 seriously crazy good soundtrack, extremely intricate and philosophical, existential and intimidating, depressing but hopeful, etc etc. the reimagining pathologic 2 is also very good but its a completely different situation. Edit- its pc only sorry but my rec stands!!!

I was initially skeptical about playing this game, seeing its bad reception on launch, and the fact that it was a critique of capitalism made by a corporation, but was pleasantly surprised when it actually held up pretty well. There's some rare times throughout the game where you can see an capitalist critique kind of filtered by cd projekt red's corporate overlords, but I found it to be pretty rare, the game to pretty fun, and the story to be pretty interesting, touching, and relatable to an extent. Especially the album Microphones in 2020. The kind of music that makes me feel like no matter what I do my art will be worth it all (which is on average true) and that it will always be a part of my life (alongside the sentiment that, just by surviving, I am creating art)
