'Voyage voyage' by Kate Ryan has to be one of those songs, the ones that make (me) feel extremely close to my European core. Close your eyes and imagine... A school dance in the early 2000s, disco lights, neon outfits, a poor music teacher cosplaying as a DJ, 'Everytime We Touch' in the queue, everybody screaming lyrics to songs they don't understand. Just a bunch of polish kids in a school gym.
I think about those moments quite often. My roommate used to hate it when I played trashy pop but trust me, nothing makes you(me) feel more alive than shaking my ass to "European" dance hits.
bless up
my first love in electronic music/club culture probably started in playing DDR in the mall as a kid and hearing trance. this music sounds like the future and the Tinge of escapism and higher consciousness in the lyrics were simple but strong I still think this sounds like the future
every time i bake a cake for someone (which became my weekly reality) i save the scraps to make a smol test bite. test bites are great! not only for cakes! there is something endearing about taking the time to make a small version of any dish, with all the important components, just to try it yourself before serving to other people. like a quality control
once in a year, on a thursday, there is this national polish celebration of donuts. and everyone HAS to eat a donut. ive been living abroad for a few years now, but every year i line up at this one polish cafe in amsterdam to get my pączki(pl donuts).
i am educating my dutch friends about it and they fucking love it now
just grabbing a professional camera on a random thursday and filming a cozy chill dinner eve with good friends. feels so cozy and nice
a good memory :)
