My hater arc is over. As all life on earth evolutionarily tends towards crustaceans, so too must the gay boy gravitate to Madonna. Itβs ancestral, sorta kinda. Why did nobody tell me how fucking rad the Orbit 12β mixes of Erotica and Justify My Love were? Where is the news and the media? I need to learn to DJ just to spin some of this shit. Ugh. when i was in 6th grade my catholic mom gave me this album for christmas lol. i was a huge madonna fan and course she knew most of it would go over my head. in my 20s i got back into this album and it still slaps. 90s house, post-AIDs crisis darkness, a mediation on love and sex and itβs inseparable ties with pain and death. it sounds really raw in places; madonnas voice sounds thin and her lyrics are occasionally clumsy. but itβs haunting and beautiful. crazy that a pop star of her stature did an album like this at the height of her fame.
also the bad girl video is directed by david fincher and stars christopher walkin. incredible.

literally can not stop listening to these gals talk about goddamn nothing... I saw them do a live podcast in brooklyn and i damn near lost my mind. I am listening to their new episode right now which compiles a bunch of clips from thier live tour and it astounds me how naturally funny they are. I think everyone has had a really good conversation with a friend and said WE SHOULD MAKE A PODCAST, but very few can handle the intensity of having a constant interesting conversations. These ladies are the only people who I am glad did that....
