Today marks the first time we’ve all experienced the sun conjunct Pluto in Aquarius. The last time Pluto transited Aquarius was 1777-1798.
When the sun and another planet happen to pass through the same degree at the same time, we call that a cazimi!
Cazimi means “heart of the sun.” Most times when the sun is conjunct another planetary body, the sun takes all the attention, leaving the secondary planet to lurk in the shadows. But with a cazimi, the sun super-charges the secondary planet. Not only can Pluto no longer hide, but it’s bursting forth, making itself loud. I’m sure you’ve heard it by now.
Aquarius is the sign of The Collective. Of social liberation. Of rebellion. It forces a different thought process, one that might feel alien. Pluto represents transformation through destruction. It fast tracks cycles to completion. One of my favorite astrologers Dalanah Smith calls Pluto the “tiny destroyer,” and often “brings about the end of an era.”
